  FUMCO's annual "Pumpkin Patch for Mission" is unique in that ALL proceeds from pumpkin sales are given away. Our mission is to offer a safe and fun fall activity for families and students to enjoy year after year while also funding local, regional and global mission! Our pumpkins are born in New Mexico and transported to Owasso in tractor trailers. The pumpkins come from Pumpkins USA/Pumpkins Fundraising. They provide pumpkins to non-profit organizations for fundraising sales. Check them out on Facebook! Purchasing pumpkins at the patch helps make a difference locally and globally. The 2016 proceeds allowed us to provide financial support or donate items to: Owasso Community Resources (OCR) , Arubah Community Clinic in Collinsville, City Lights Foundation (sponsor of Night Light Tulsa) , FUMCO Food Pantry , FUMCO Christmas Everyday fund, Restore Hope Ministries, UMCOR relief kits, OKVIM ongoing Bolivia mission efforts, FUMCO sponsored VIM Mexico Spring Break mission trip, OKUMC sponsored Exodus House and CJAMM ministries, OCR sponsored Thanksgiving Baskets and Christmas Angel Tree gifts for CJAMM and children through OCR. In addition to selling pumpkins (which come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors!), our activities include: outdoor classroom, weekend hayrides, a fun maze, stickers, and wonderful photo backdrops. Most importantly, the "Pumpkin Patch for Mission" is also an outreach to the Owasso and surrounding communities. The "Outdoor Classroom" provides a fun learning opportunity for school field trips. The annual "Hance Henrie Memorial Run for the Patch" start and finish line are at the Patch. A free outdoor movie night and the annual Halloween "Trunk or Treat" are also held at the patch.   Pumpkin Festival at Shepherd's Cross & Heart of the Shepherd September 26 - November 4, Tuesday - Saturday 9:00 am - 6:30 pm Open Monday, October 30th Join Shepherd's Cross and Heart of the Shepherd for their annual Pumpkin Festival. Enjoy a peaceful day in the country at an authentic working sheep farm, located just north of Claremore off Route 66. Filled with family-friendly activities with no scares. Loads of pumpkins in all shapes, sizes, and colors for purchase, starting at $1.50 each. Admission and parking are free. The only pay-for activity is the Wagon Ride. Enjoy a tractor-pulled wagon ride on a ramp-loading trailer through the hay meadow. Wagon ride tickets are available for $6.50 per person; 2 and under are free. Wagon rides are every 30 minutes. There are over 60 free activities to enjoy on the farm. Explore the walk-through Pumpkin Patch with Hay Maze and Game Area. Pet sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, and alpacas in the Farm Animal Barn petting area. Walk the Bible Garden and see pumpkins growing on the vine surrounded by sunflowers and fall flowers. All new this year is our QR Code Scavenger Hunt. Look around the farm for QR codes to scan and watch short videos about farming and shepherding. Pumpkin Packages are available to purchase, which include a pumpkin (size of pumpkin varies with type of package), wagon ride, and a take-home craft or bring some old clothes to make your own scarecrow. Packages start at $9.50 per person. Inside the Amish-built barn browse the gift shop with handmade decor, gifts, and wares from 60 local consignors as well as local honey, meat, and eggs; explore the Farm Museum and Silo with the all new animated Percy the Perfect Pumpkin story time, and watch fiber demonstrations in the Wool Mill. There are modern indoor restrooms. Shepherd's Cross is an accredited Agritourism facility, a Made in Oklahoma Company, and a Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished Animal Welfare Approved farm. Heart of the Shepherd is the non-profit organization (501-C3) that operates at the farm. Heart of the Shepherd teaches Biblical references to the harvest, the animals, farming, and gardening. Because of their generosity, admission to Pumpkin Festival is free and operates by donations. Suggested donation is $5 per person; suggested, not required.   Halloween Experience This spooky (but not-too-scary) event is suitable for all ages and attracts thousands of visitors to the zoo for trick-or-treating and Halloween fun. HallowZOOeen presented by Oklahoma Central Credit Union is an annual fundraiser for zoo operations. It includes Goblin Stops where kids can pick up treats, carnival games at the Insurica Pumpkin Patch, special themed activities at the Burger King Royal Castle and QuikTrip Pirate Island as well as Bank of Oklahoma Haunted Train Rides around the zoo. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in creative costumes.   Fall Break Camp 2024 Fall Break Camp Theme: SAFE: Saving Animals from Extinction Some animals are facing extinction and need our help! “Kid power” is an amazing force that can be put into action for the animals. SAFE stands for “saving animals from extinction” and is an international conservation initiative created by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Campers will learn what is being done to keep their favorite endangered species at the Tulsa Zoo SAFE, and what they can do at home to make an impact across the globe. Each camp day highlights a different threatened or endangered animal that lives at the Tulsa Zoo. When you enroll, you can you can choose as many or as few days as you like!
